Eight Organizations Receive Funding Through Close the Gap, Phase One of Imagine Nonviolence

The Health Foundation for Western & Central New York is proud to announce the 2024 grant recipients for Imagine Nonviolence: Close the Gap, the first phase of our initiative to advance community-based gun violence prevention and intervention strategies and increase firearm safety. Each grant recipient will use the funding to strengthen the delivery of an existing, publicly funded program.

Representing both western and central New York, here are the eight recipients of Imagine Nonviolence: Close the Gap funding:

  • Back to Basics Ministries (WNY) $5000
  • ECMC Foundation (WNY) $5000
  • Integrated Community Alternatives Network (CNY) $5000
  • Most Valuable Parents of Buffalo (WNY) $4000
  • Parents Encouraging Accountability and Closure for Everyone (P.E.A.C.E) Inc. (WNY) $5000
  • Rebuilding the Village (CNY) $5000
  • Suicide Prevention Coalition of Erie County (WNY) $5000
  • VOICE Buffalo (WNY) $5000

Phase two of Imagine Nonviolence is Expand the Reach, which will award grants of up to $15,000 for new programs. The application review process for this next phase is under way; grant recipients for Expand the Reach will be announced in September.
