Upcoming Town Halls in Buffalo, Hamburg Seek Public Input on Issues Facing Older Adults

Master Plan for Aging Town Halls

(Buffalo, NY) As the U.S. marks Older Americans Month in May, the NYS Master Plan for Aging Coalition, an independent advocacy group made up of members from across New York State, will present town halls in Buffalo and Hamburg, NY. The town halls will provide an opportunity for the public to provide input on the development of the state’s Master Plan for Aging (MPA).

Under the leadership of Governor Kathy Hochul, New York State embarked on a Master Plan for Aging in 2022. The MPA is designed to ensure that older adults, individuals with disabilities, and people of all ages can live healthy, fulfilling lives while aging with dignity and independence.

The town halls, presented with support from the Health Foundation for Western & Central New York, will include remarks from representatives of the New York State Department of Health, as well as a community input session. The events will be livestreamed and ASL interpreters will be provided in-person.
