The Health Foundation for Western & Central New York is partnering on a new opportunity led by USAging to support social connection programs for older adults and caregivers.
USAging’s Strengthening Social Connection in Communities is offering seed grants of up to $35,000 to support initiatives that improve the health and well-being of older adults and caregivers through enhanced social connection. The program will fund eight to 10 Aging Network organizations, with two grants reserved for western New York.
**The Health Foundation will fund two grantees located in western New York (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans or Wyoming counties) with a focus on social connection programs for people with cognitive impairment or mental health concerns such as depression.
This effort is co-managed by USAging’s Aging and Disability Business Institute and engAGED: The National Resources Center for Engaging Older Adults, with support from The John A. Hartford Foundation, the Health Foundation for Western & Central New York and RRF Foundation for Aging.
An informational webinar will take place on October 23 at 2:00 PM ET. The link to join the webinar is available here.
