Maternal and Perinatal Health in Western New York

Download

We commissioned the Western New York Community Health Planning Institute, the planning arm of the P2 Collaborative of Western New York, to replicate an analysis on maternal and child health completed for the Central New York region in 2010.

This analysis includes a scan of demographic characteristics and perinatal and maternal health outcomes within the eight counties of Western New York. The WNY Community Health Planning Institute analyzed zip code data from the 2000 and 2010 U.S. Census Bureau and perinatal data from the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Biometrics and Health Statistics and New York City Mental Hygiene, Bureau of Vital Statistics to identify zip codes that are at high risk for poor maternal and child health outcomes where we can focus our funding and efforts.
