Early Childhood Connections Program Evaluation

Download

We designed the Early Childhood Connections Pilot Program to help identify potential and existing developmental and behavioral problems in children up to the age of five and connect them and their families to the services they need.

Through the program, six primary care practices in Erie and Niagara County screened children under the age of five for potential developmental and behavioral issues using the PEDS screening tool, a simple, quick, and validated screening tool.

The information and data we gathered through this program helped to expand our understanding of the needs of children and families in our communities and identify gaps in services.

With the help of a grant and technical assistance from the Kellogg Foundation, the Early Childhood Connections program transitioned into Help Me Grow Western New York. This evaluation helped us to further understand the family’s experience with Early Childhood Connections and we used the information to assist in the transition into Help Me Grow WNY.
