The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York has welcomed Monica T. Brown as a new program officer in its Buffalo office, Health Foundation President Ann F. Monroe announced Monday, January 13, 2014.
Before joining the Health Foundation, Brown spent more than 14 years with the American Red Cross Serving Erie and Niagara Counties, beginning her tenure as coordinator of the women’s HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Initiative.
She then served as the director of the HIV/AIDS Services Department and became the organization’s director of community programs in 2013. In that role, she was responsible for providing oversight for all Red Cross community programming in western New York, including the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute Regional Training Center, Women’s HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Initiative, Chronic Disease Self-Management, Long Term Care Ombudsman and Senior Transportation programs.
She is a resident of Cheektowaga, NY.
