Franca Trincia, CPA, Joins Board of Trustees of Health Foundation for Western & Central New York

(Buffalo and Syracuse, NY) The Health Foundation for Western & Central New York has announced that Franca Trincia, CPA, of North Tonawanda, NY, has joined the Board of Trustees. Her expertise in nonprofit finance and accounting will support the Health Foundation’s vision of racial and socioeconomic health equity in western and central New York.

Ms. Trincia is a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant with experience in public accounting and private industry.

She has served as Chief Financial Officer of VIA – Visually Impaired Advancement since 2014. First established in Buffalo in 1907, VIA has a rich history of helping people who are blind or visually impaired achieve their highest level of independence.

Ms. Trincia is Past President and Director of the New York State Society of CPAs and a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitrator. Her previous community service experience has included serving on the boards for: New York State Society of CPAs; Hauptmann-Woodward Medical Research Institute; Public Health Collaborative of WNY; and Just Buffalo Literary Center, as well as on the Advisory Committee for the Buffalo Center for Health Equity.

“Ms. Trincia has a deep understanding of nonprofit finances that will benefit not only the Health Foundation, but our grantees as well,” said Nora OBrien-Suric, PhD. “Her mission-driven and compassionate approach to understanding and supporting nonprofit organizations will be an essential addition to our board’s vast expertise.”

The Health Foundation also confirmed its slate of officers for 2024. Leanne Fiscoe, CPA, of Camillus, will continue to serve as Chair; Carrie Whitwood, of Wellsville, will serve as Vice Chair; Marybeth McCall, MD, of Utica, will continue to serve as Secretary; and Andrew Dorn, of Hamburg, has been elected to serve as Treasurer.
