Live Long and Prosper: Building a Sustainable Health Care System for Western New York’s Aging Population

At “Live Long and Prosper,” our first speaker series event, experts on aging discussed the role of the health care system and community in improving the health and well-being of older adults in western New York.

At “Live Long and Prosper,” Juergen H.A. Bludau, M.D., director of Clinical Geriatric Services, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and Philip B. Stafford, Ph.D., director of the Center on Aging and Community at Indiana University, presented information on best practices and programs of excellence in both clinical settings and the community and answered questions from attendees.

This event was part of the “Excellence for Tomorrow: Innovative Approaches for WNY Health Care” Speaker Series that showcased innovative health care solutions to critical issues like racial and ethnic health care disparities, health care access for rural populations, reinforcing the health care safety net and ensuring children are emotionally prepared for school.
