A message from the president of the Health Foundation

Hello,

I am thrilled to be greeting you as the new president of the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York.

Since the Health Foundation began more than 13 years ago, it has worked to improve the health and health care of young children and older adults across western and central New York and support the systems that serve them.

Over the years, the foundation has grown to become more than a funder, becoming actively involved with its partners on programs from development through implementation and evaluation. It has brought people and organizations together to address complex issues and become a respected resource to many in the region, state and nation.

I am honored to have the opportunity to uphold this legacy and carry this important work forward.

We will continue to work toward a future where all vulnerable older adults lead a dignified, independent, high quality life in their community; young children impacted by poverty are physically, socially and emotionally healthy; and our communities are able to plan for and meet the needs of the most vulnerable.

We will continue to push for innovation and creative thinking, and be open to new ideas from the communities we serve.

But we know that to be successful in meeting our goals, we need our partners– the people and organizations that work tirelessly every day to tackle the problems affecting our communities.

So while the environment we live in changes rapidly around us, we will stay focused on what we can do together with our partners to make a positive difference in the health of young children and older adults across our regions. We are all in this together.

I look forward to building relationships and working with you to have a meaningful and lasting impact on the people and issues that the foundation and our staff cares so deeply about.

I am excited at the potential for all we can accomplish together in the years to come.

Please feel free to get in touch with me via email at nobsuric@hfwcny.org or at (716) 852-3030.

All the best,

Nora OBrien-Suric, Ph.D.
