In recent years, nonprofit organizations have begun to understand the importance of providing services based on trauma-informed best practices. But bringing a trauma-informed lens to care delivery is difficult for busy, under-resourced nonprofits, as it requires time and funding.
Launched in 2018, Co-Creating Well-Being was a unique multi-year initiative of the Health Foundation for Western & Central New York designed to address the impact of trauma on young children and families. This report provides an overview of the project and
the lessons it offers for community-based organizations and funders who wish to incorporate trauma-informed care into their work.
