Statement from Nora OBrien-Suric, PhD, President of the
Health Foundation for Western & Central New York
Elections are a significant indicator of a healthy democracy. So, too, are community involvement, collaboration, and innovation on behalf of every person and group—especially those whose voices have been historically marginalized and whose wellbeing may be particularly at risk.
No matter the outcome of the 2024 election, the Health Foundation will continue to stand for—and with—the community groups that are working, day in and day out, to advance health equity.
We will not waver from our mission. If anything, we will strengthen our efforts to collaborate on systemic change to help more individuals and families access and afford health care, close health disparities, and improve the lives of the people we serve.
